Learn to Skate Registration Form Spring 2026 (Starts March 17th, 2026)
IMPORTANT: Prior to signing up for a Learn to Skate group class at Cool Sports, skaters must first register with US Figure Skating in the Learn to Skate USA program. This must also be renewed annually in June! The Learn to Skate USA annual membership fee is $18.50 and the year runs from July 1- June 30. Visit https://www.learntoskateusa.com/ to register with Learn to Skate USA and then make sure to come back to this page to register for your group class! Also, write down your Learn to Skate USA membership number because you’ll need it when you skater tests or competes in the future.

*Level Descriptions: Snowplow 1-4 invites children age 3-5 to learn the joys of ice skating in a safe, introductory setting. Basic 1-6 (ages 6-12) & Adult/Teen 1-6 (ages 13 and up) our instructors use engaging activities to teach the FUNdamentals of ice skating to skaters ages 6 and up. The six progressive levels introduce forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers and turns with agility, balance, coordination and speed as main focuses.

Duration: 8 weeks Structure: Each session includes a 30-minute group lesson followed by 30 minutes of practice time.
Smoky Mountain Skating Academy Participant Waiver
In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Smoky Mountain Skating Academy program, related events and activities of ice skating, hockey, broomball, and other ice related activities, I ​, the undersigned, acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:

1. The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,

2. I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown of my participation in of ice skating, hockey, broomball, and other ice-rated activities, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and,

3. I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation in of ice skating, hockey, broomball, and other ice related activities. If, however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately; and,

4. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD HARMLESS Smoky Mountain Skating Academy LLC, their officers, officials, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“Releases”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I have read this Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Agreement, fully understand its terms, understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it, and sign it freely and voluntarily without any inducement.
